An accomplished trial attorney with 17 years of litigation experience, Mr Marc Schechter knew from his early days as a Florida State University Seminole that he would not be just another “traditional lawyer.” While starting his legal journey as an intern investigator at the Law Office of the Public Defender in the Second Judicial Circuit of Florida, Mr Schechter played an integral part in a highly publicized First Degree murder case, researching and gathering information and evidence from Tallahassee to Miami. As the defendant proclaimed his innocence and tension continued to grow within the community as well as with the family members, he continued to strive, while accentuating his determination and virtue to gain fair and impartial trial, in light of tremendous negative press against him. It was this defining moment that Mr Schechter chose to dedicate his career to becoming the defense lawyer that he is today.
Mr Schechter pursued his legal education at Nova Southeastern University and upon graduation in 1998, he worked with Carman, Beauchamp and Sang in their insurance defense practice. Subsequently, he switched gears and went to practice on his own. Mr. Schechter developed, oversaw, and managed his private law practice for over a decade. In addition to the practice of law, he simultaneously directed the daily operations of a media entertainment and marketing company with a large domestic and international client base in diverse industries. His clients included world renowned Fortune 500 companies, such as, Disney and Sony and he worked with some of the company’s top CEOs, musicians, artists, movie and television personalities.
After the company and its intellectual properties were acquired, Mr. Schechter returned to his passion of defense work as a trial attorney for GEICO General Insurance Company. He was responsible for directly representing the company, its subsidiaries and their insureds in all aspects of insurance defense, including auto negligence and subrogation cases, EUO’s and wrongful death actions. He was involved in complex litigation for the company and his excellent courtroom, negotiation, communication and client interaction skills has made Mr Schechter one of the “go-to guys” for GEICO in South Florida.
As his legal journey continued, Mr. Schechter became a partner and trial attorney at Robinson, Pecaro and Mier, P.A. in 2014. He handles all aspects of civil litigation for national insurance carriers ranging from automobile negligence actions to wrongful death and complex litigation matters. He has developed a reputation for his special focus and interest on medical billing/overbilling challenges and expert witness/treating physician issues.
Mr Schechter continues to hone and sharpen his mediation skills on a daily basis right in his own backyard, utilizing his 5 amazing children in his family of 7 as his daily litigants! Mr Schechter is an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and to quote the company states: “If I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand…”
